Meet Dr. Lane

Healing and helping - that is what drew him into dentistry. Dr. Lane’s foundation as a dentist grew from his Christian faith and a deep desire to serve the Lord and his community with his whole heart. After a number of years in his first career, Dr. Lane felt a specific call in life to be a person of hope and healing to those with dental and oral health needs. He didn’t know how God would make it happen for a husband and father to go back to dental school full-time, but he decided to take a step of faith towards that calling. God was faithful (as He always is) and saw fit to carry the Lane family through four rigorous years at the UNC Adams School of Dentistry. After being awarded his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, Dr. Lane and his family decided to transition to New Bern, NC to sink in roots and make Craven County home.

A native son of eastern North Carolina, Dr. Lane was born and raised up the road in Edenton on the Chowan River. It’s a joy for him to be back home down east, where the water meets the land and life moves just a little bit slower. He and his wife, Sara, have been married for nearly a decade and have three unique and fun-loving kids: Eliza, Ballard, and Shepherd. They are expecting their fourth child (and true New Bernian!) in August 2022. When the weather is nice, you’ll usually find the Lane family out and about enjoying all that our little slice of paradise on earth has to offer: from Martin Marietta Park to the Croatan National Forest, from downtown New Bern and the Bear City Fudge Company to the Crystal Coast and the Cape Lookout ferryboat. Dr. Lane and family are proud to call New Bern home and look forward to serving alongside our community for many, many years to come!
